Today, I finished the logo design for Windy City Baking Co., a small upstart bakery from Northern Ireland that makes American style baked goods. The client wanted a fun and classy (two traits which seem nearly mutually exclusive) logo to represent his new baking endeavor that references Chicago, the largest city near the client’s hometown. Tall buildings and a blowing flag give the retro logo a breezy, metropolitan feel. The compound silhouette of the buildings backlit by a soft glow with a round red dome on top, subliminally suggest a cupcake, helping to reinforce a baked goods identity.
